Many things come to mind when one hears the phrase Spring Cleaning. Growing up, I remember my mom purging the closets of the winter woolies and bringing hidden closets, the Easter fineries.
I also remember washing the window washing and changing out the curtains.
But with these memories, also come the nightmare of the sneezes, wheezes and coughs. The hidden dust bunnies and all the cleaning products that went along with the “Spring Cleaning”.
Sadly, it was years later I learned how many of the rituals of cleaning did more damage than good. You may wonder what I’m referring to?
Did you ever question the chemicals in your household cleaning products? If you have— kuddos to you!
Why do we as moms command our kiddos to get out of the room when we are de-scaling the shower or disinfecting the toilets or mopping the floors? Could it be that we knew those products were toxic?
I was one of those moms who commanded my kids to get out of the bathroom as I was using my handy dandy powerful cleaners. Yet, I was breathing in the toxic fumes.
May I challenge you? When it’s time for Spring Cleaning in your home, research the ingredients within your cleaners. It took me 40 years to wake up and smell the “roses” but I finally did and am completely satisfied that I found products that are safe, powerful, and clean.
Off to Spring Cleaning I go…..and I don’t have to worry about sneezing, wheezing or coughing.
