Love One Another

My heart and prayers turn to the 2,000 displaced residents of my town this morning.  Due to the fire at a local warehouse, much of my town is in upheaval.

As I was spending time with my Lord this morning what came to mind is “One Another”.   It’s definitely a theme I’ve been thinking about studying, maybe now is the time?

Did you know at least 59 times we see this phrase in scripture?  I was taught early in life that if something is repeated, it’s repeated for a reason.

Serve one another, bear one another’s burden, love one another, honor one another, etc.  What do you think our Lord is trying to get into our thick skulls?

As a lifecoach, I ask lots of questions; questions of myself, of others, and of God.  So, it’s natural this morning as I spend time in the Word that I am asking questions such as:

How can we, Jesus’ hands and feet, show compassion and kindness to one another during this horrific crisis?

How are we as the church called to minister?

What comforts are we (including me) to put aside in order to bear the burdens of the victims?

How can I serve those who are experiencing overwhelming emotions?

AND how can I bring blessing to grief, comfort to loss and healing to pain?

Will you pray with me for the people of Richmond Indiana?   Will you also join me in asking the Lord, how you can serve, love and comfort the less fortunate within your own communities?

We are told “Employ the gifts that God has given us for the benefit of one another” (1 Peter 4:10)

How are you going to use your gifts today?

Marriage Reflections

Have you ever had a memorable Valentine’s Day? I did, in fact there was one I will never forget. My financé (soon to be husband) and I were having dinner with a lovely married couple from church whom we loved and respected.  The evening was filled with fun, excitement, and the quest for marriage advice for our soon approaching day.    “What’s the secret to a happy marriage?”  “What lessons have you learned from your years?”  were just a few questions presented that evening.
